A powerful motor is a prerequisite for any bike, so let’s see how the Mokwheel Scoria and the Himiway Big Dog fare in this department.
This is arguably the most important component of any E-bike. Is there a significant difference between the two? Let’s find out now.
Motor:
The Scoria sports a 750W brushless motor that claims to deliver up to 90Nm torque, while on the other hand, the Big Dog features an upgraded 750W motor that can deliver up to 86Nm of torque. Himiway claims that their new brushless motor with a specialized inner ring should translate to faster acceleration and slightly higher load capacity. Meanwhile, the Aventure is fitted with a 1130W brushless rear hub motor which Aventon deems to be its most powerful motor yet. This means that the Aventure step-through bike should be able to traverse longer distances than any other Aventon bike ever produced before.
Battery:
The Mokwheel Scoria is fitted with a brand new 48V 20Ah battery that can charge up completely in 6 hours and last from 60 to 80 miles per charge. It does however come with an advanced battery management system that can maximize battery life by preventing overcharging. Coming to the Himiway Big Dog, it also comes with a 48V 20Ah battery that takes about 7 hours to charge up completely and typically lasts for 60 to 80 miles per charge. Last but not the least, the Aventure features a 48V 15Ah battery which should charge up completely in about 4-5 hours.
Verdict: There isn’t a lot to split the two bikes between when it comes to an efficient motor. But, on paper, the Aventure seems to have a slight edge, but it remains to be seen if that’ll translate on road.
The Mokwheel Scoria edges its competitors, at least on paper, thanks to its one-of-a-kind intuitive battery management system.

An E-bike is subjected to a lot of wear and tear, so a factory warranty might come in handy if an essential component were to fail. And price can make all the difference between two products. So, the million dollar question- how are our bikes priced?
Warranty:
Given that you’ll be using these bikes on a daily basis, this factor might become a deal-breaker. But, thankfully both Mokwheel and Himiway provide a 2-year warranty that applies to all purchases made from authorized vendors. On the other hand, the Aventure comes with a one-year warranty which isn’t all that bad either.
Price:
The Mokwheel Scoria is currently priced at $2,199 which is inclusive of a bunch of free accessories like a fender, a multifunctional rear rack, and an inverter. The Mokwheel comes in a bundle with an inverter thrown into the mix, giving it more value for money. Meanwhile, the Himiway Big Dog is priced slightly lower at $1,999. The free accessories here include an integrated fender, a rear rack, a tool kit, and a bike cap. On the other hand, the Aventon Aventure Step-through bike is currently priced similarly at $1,999. But, unlike Himiway, Aventon does not ship out free accessories along with the bike. So, you’ll need to spend a little more cash if you want to buy those accessories, effectively adding a couple of hundred dollars to the effective price.
The Mokwheel Scoria and Himiway Big Dog are evidently the top picks, considering the 2-year extended warranty as opposed to in the case of Aventure Step-through Ebike which only offers a warranty of 1 year.
While slightly more expensive than its rivals, the Mokwheel Scoria seems to best its competitors comprehensively in this department.
Final Verdict
As the table above illustrates, there is not a lot of difference between the bikes when it comes to some of the more important core features, so it all ultimately comes down to price. Since the Mokwheel Scoria is priced at $1,999 as opposed to the $1,999 price tag of the Himiway Big Dog and the Aventure Step-through Ebike, it seems that the Scoria offers more value for money overall.
